Gloria Mercedes Garcia Vicente contemporary collage the weekly giant flea marketThe starting point for this collage was a very old calling card (that of one Gloria Mercedes Garcia Vicente) and its tiny envelope, found on my treasure hunt through Valencias weekly flea market, the Rastro. Old handwritten school notes and a bus ticket were thrown in for good measure. It has a very pleasing mid century design feel to it, with lots of organic shapes quietly bringing these old objects and their mysterious stories into the 21st century.
