British Clinometer Sight, Mark IV – 1944 Dated Edged Weapons Dimensions: 60 x 20 xA WWII dated British Clinometer Sight, Mark IV, manufactured in 1944, stamped with military acceptance marks. This optical mechanical sighting instrument was used for indirect fire calculations, primarily with the Vickers Medium Machine Gun and also adaptable for small artillery pieces and mortars. Its purpose was to accurately measure elevation and depression in degrees, allowing crews to lay down sustained indirect fire on pre registered targets.
