I was driving back to Durham at dusk one evening and saw the lights on in the store

Varnamtown is just one of these small dying fishing communities along the eastern coast of North Carolina

and great comfort to be found just being in that beautiful and peaceful place

I was doing just that from inside Clayton Fulcher Seafood, located on Core Sound in the Atlantic. That was a calm morning with a soft breeze blowing the grasses. So quiet.
