The tap-in loom uses a permanent live and the Nextbase control box will put the camera to sleep unless one of the following happens :-

The handle fits in the centre of the tailgate underneath the two number plate lights

This is a motorised "butterfly" valve that is driven by a motor that drives some gears to close and open the "flap".
