The Lumberjacks took that trade as their name when they became charter members of the Class D Louisiana State League, lining up alongside the Abbeville Sluggers, Alexandria Tigers, Lafayette Hubs, New Iberia Sugar Boys, and Rayne Rice Birds. Under manager Louis Bremerhof, Oakdale held first place at 37 24 when the league
